Day 1 - Moscow
Arrive in Moscow and transfer to the ship. Meet and greet staff and fellow passengers and enjoy a Welcome Cocktail and Dinner onboard.
Day 2 - Moscow
Start the day with a hearty breakfast before joining the guided
city tour. You will visit Moscow's most famous sights such as Red
Square, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Lenin Hills, the Tverskaya, the
Lubyanka Square and the Arbat Street, a pedestrian street in the
historic centre of Moscow. As part of the afternoon excursion you
have the opportunity to ride on the Moscow metro, which is unlike
any other metro systems in the world and you will visit the
Tretyakov Art Museum.
Day 3 - Moscow
During the day you will have the chance to see the Kremlin on a guided tour. You will also enjoy a visit to the oldest museum in Russia, the Armoury Museum, displaying the former royal collection of treasures including jewels, crowns, armour, royal carriages and the world famous Fabergé Eggs. Later in the day you have the chance to explore this fantastic city by yourself.
Day 4 - Moscow
Optional excursions are available or alternatively, you can explore the city on your own. The ship will leave Moscow in the evening on the way to Uglich, where you will arrive early next morning.
Day 5 - Uglich
Uglich is a historic town, first documented in 1148. The city had been the seat of a small princedom from 1218 until 1328 when the local princes sold their rights to the great prince of Moscow. On the city tour you will see one of Russia's most beautiful churches and cathedrals like the Transfiguration Cathedral. You will also visit a Russian family at home and have a traditional meal with them.
Day 6 - Yaroslavl
You arrive in Yaroslavl, also known as the Golden City and one of the oldest cities in Russia with its roots stretching back to the Vikings. The city is famous for its architecture which guests will have the opportunity to admire during the city tour. The tour will also take you to the Transfiguration Monastery and to the Church of Elijah the Prophet.
Day 7 - Goritsy
Sail along the Volga-Baltic Waterway, a system of rivers and canals linking the Baltic Sea with the Volga River. Enjoy exploring the typical Russian village of Goritzy. Take a stroll on the historic ground surrounded by small wooden chapels. Visit the Museum of Icons and the St. Cyril Monastery. The vessel departs in the evening and cruises through the night.
Day 8 - Kizhi Island
Kizhi is an island on Lake Onega, with an ensemble of wooden churches, chapels and houses. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Russia and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your tour of the island will include a visit to the museum of wooden architecture. The 'jewel' of this architectural highlight is the Church of Intercession, which was built in 1764 without using a single nail.
Day 9 - Svirstroy
Svirstroy is a small village with approximately 1,000 residents located on the River Svir about 150 miles east of St. Petersburg. You have all day to explore the city at your leisure. Svirstoy is the best place to do some shopping. You will find lots of handmade trinkets here. After departure, you will cruise along Russia's finest waterways, passing the Lake Ladoga, Europe's largest fresh water lake.
Day 10 - St. Petersburg
Welcome to St. Petersburg - the city was built in the 18th century by Peter the Great. It is a beautiful city with unique charm and history. Due to its canals it has often been dubbed the Venice of the North. On your city tour you will see the most famous sights such as the Nevsky Prospect or the Palace Square. In the afternoon you will visit the Hermitage Museum, which houses the royal art collection with over three million pieces.
Day 11 - St. Petersburg
In the morning, the tour will bring you to the famous and
spectacular Imperial
Estate - Peterhof Palace. The Palace was built on the Gulf of
Finland by Peter the
Great. Learn more about the Russian history and the Czars. The
palace gardens feature 150 fountains and guests will have enough
time to enjoy the beauty &
splendour of this palace. In the evening you can join an optional
folklore show.
Day 12 - St. Petersburg
Join an optional excursion to Pushkin or take the opportunity to stroll along one of the many picturesque canals. The city is also home to many famous museums, galleries, palaces and impressive squares. In the evening you are invited to a ballet performance at the Hermitage Theatre, the former theatre of the Czars.
Day 13 - St. Petersburg
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight to London.
