The DOM is a part of Hamburg's tradition and guarantees adventure, fun, excitement and nostalgia. The name goes back to a group of merchants, craftsmen and jugglers, who, following some disagreements, were granted the right in 1337 to seek shelter in the cathedral "Marien-Dom" whenever the weather was particularly bad. At the end of the 19th century, the fairground showmen and machine operators found their new "home" on Heiligengeistfeld, the venue of today's DOM.
The Hamburg Dom is one of the largest fun fairs in Germany and offers its visitors a 3 kilometre area filled with thrilling rides, family entertainment and beer tents. Three times a year the area transforms into an entertainment area suitable for both young and old. Enjoy roasted almonds, candied fruits, bratwursts and potato pancakes while strolling through the market. The fair area is next to the famous 'Reeperbahn' - Hamburg's 'sinful mile' - where partygoers can enjoy the never ending nightlife of the maritime town when the Hamburg Dom closes its doors
