The beautiful town Zermatt is located on the Italian border in Switzerland in the canton Valais. It lies at the foot of the Matterhorn Mountain, which stands at a height of 4478 metres.
With about 300 sunny days a year, Zermatt is perfect for everyone who wants to enjoy a top class ski holiday in the highest area of the Alps.
Since 1947 only electric cars and buses without a combustion engine are allowed to drive in the town. This fact guarantees a clean, fresh air and the best conditions for all kinds of sports and activities.
A further highlight is the skiing facility in summer: about 20 kilometres of piste are on offer for 365 days a year!
Numerous shops are spread out around the town. Many of these specialise in sports clothing and accessories - tourists will find everything they require for their stay.
Jewellers sell the famous Swiss watches. Gift shops provide a wide range of souvenirs to take a piece of the holiday home.
