Idyllically situated between the Taunus Mountains in the north and the Rhine in the south, Wiesbaden in Germany is the multifaceted capital of 'Hessen'. Built in 1907, the Kurhaus with the elegant casino is an imposing building and one of Wiesbaden's main landmarks.
Historical Old Town
Schlossplatz square in the centre of the city contains the stunning gothic Market Church and the New Town Hall. On the northern side of the square is the neoclassical City Castle, home to the regional parliament.
Neroberg Mountain
On the outskirts of Wiesbaden you will find Neroberg Mountain. A restored 1888 cable car makes the trip up the hill to the Russian Orthodox Church, modelled on the Church of Ascension in Moscow.
