The countryside of the Allgäu region in south-west Bavaria is dominated by the majestic Bavarian Alps and numerous lakes. The 700-year old town of Füssen boasts an intimate charm with its quaint cobbled streets and pretty medieval centre framed by the majestic peaks of the Alps. Far away from the hum of noisy traffic, you can stroll around soaking up the serene atmosphere in the pedestrian zone, indulge in many culinary delights and relax in one of Füssen's many beer gardens. The fairytale castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein take you back in time to the royal era of King Ludwig II.
