Wiesbaden - City of Hot Springs

Idyllically situated between the Taunus Mountains in the north and the Rhine in the south, Wiesbaden is the multifaceted capital of ‘Hessen’. A city of grand villas, sparkling wine, hot springs and thermal baths, Wiesbaden is lovingly known as the ‘Nice of the North’. Due to its elegant charm, imposing architecture, peaceful parks and rich cultural scene, this beautiful city has been attracting visitors ever since the Romans first discovered it.

Things To Do

  • Spend an exciting evening in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, a restored classical building converted into a theatre and casino.
  • Take the cable car up to the Neroberg for the Russian Orthodox Church and enjoy spectacular views over Wiesbaden.
  • The Schlossplatz (castle square) is in the city centre and contains the stunning Gothic ‘Marktkirche’ (church), the New Town Hall as well as the neoclassical ‘Stadtschloss’ (castle).
