Munich - Gateway to the Alps

Welcome to Munich – Bavaria’s beautiful capital! Brimming with exciting attractions, cultural delights, glorious historical architecture, great shopping opportunities and tranquil parks, Munich really does have something for everyone.

Munich is a cosmopolitan city that retains its traditional charm of a provincial town and cultural wealth whilst exuding a warm Mediterranean flair. There are fascinating museums and sights. With its imposing dome-topped towers, the ‘Frauenkirche’ is Munich’s most famous landmark. Relax in one of the many beer gardens, enjoy tasty Bavarian specialities and, of course, no visit would be complete without a ‘Maß’ of beer!

Insider Tip:

Visit the ‘Pinakotheken Viertel’ (Art Galleries Quarter) north-east of the main station. The area features three main art museums - the Old, the New and the Modern Pinakothek - which exhibit masterpieces from the Middle Ages to the present.
