City Breaks » Munich City Breaks

As Bavaria's beautiful capital, Munich is brimming with exciting attractions and cultural delights. Munich city breaks have something for families and couples alike. Relaxing bars and cafes and the annual Oktoberfest (October Beer Festival) are perfect for couples with glorious historical architecture, great shopping opportunities and tranquil parks are attractions not to be missed. Family attractions such as the Munich Zoo or the Neuschwanstein, known to be Walt Disney's inspiration for the Disneyland Castle, are also a great hit with the kids.

At Christmas time Munich turns into a magical winter wonderland. Covered in glistening snowflakes and twinkling fairy lights reflecting off the cobbled stones, the Munich Christmas Market embraces thousands of visitors each year. Munich is a cosmopolitan city that retains the traditional charm and cultural wealth of a provincial town, whilst exuding a warm Mediterranean flair. There are fascinating museums and sights. With its imposing dome-topped towers, the Frauenkirche is Munich's most famous landmark. Relax in one of the many beer gardens, enjoy tasty Bavarian specialities and, of course, no visit would be complete without a 'Maß' of beer!

Munich City Break

Owned by the German State, the Hofbräuhaus is one of Munich's oldest breweries. Renowned as the "most famous pub in the world" this pub is well worth going to for a local pint. A Munich city break often includes a trip to The Hofbräuhaus, which also provides live music with concerts regularly held in the function rooms providing visitors with the opportunity to experience traditional Bavarian music and the famous "Gemütlichkeit" (public festival).
