Our Geneva city breaks take in the most of this beautiful, cosmopolitan city in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, framed by the Alps and situated at Europe's largest lake, Lake Geneva. Geneva has Switzerland's second largest population and is recognised as being one of the world's most important cities for international committee's regular meet ups, although Geneva is much more than this.
The city is not only the world capital of watch-making, but also a city of wonderful lakeside parks, world-class cultural events and exhibitions as well as gastronomic delights. Geneva is home to more than 200 international organisations and is widely recognised as the City of Peace and major national negotiations. As an open-minded city Geneva makes its guests soon feel at home!
Geneva City Break
Possibly the most iconic of landmarks in Geneva; the Gevena Jet d'Eau is a fountain of water that fires water 140m into the air and can be seen from all sides of the Geneva Harbour front and is a popular attraction for those on a Geneva city break. The fountain was originally a hydro-pressure release for the local hydro-power station on the Rhône River, but was installed as a permanent feature in 1891 in demand from the local residents.
The fountain is a spectacular display of water and is a beautiful feature especially at night when the sun goes down and the fountain becomes lit up. Just North of Geneva, Berne's "lac de Neuchatel" is another popular visitor attraction with those visiting Western Switzerland. Our Berne City Breaks offer spectacular views of the surrounding lakes and good transport links to Geneva.
