ATOL is a financial protection scheme for holidaymakers travelling on an air inclusive holiday, which is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority. This protects you from losing your money or from being stranded overseas in the very unlikely event that DERTOUR should go out of business. Our Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) number is ATOL 1839.

When you buy an ATOL protected air inclusive holiday* from us, you will receive a confirmation invoice from us (or via our authorised agent through which you booked) confirming your arrangements and your protection under our ATOL.

* The air inclusive holidays we arrange are ATOL protected providing either the person who pays for the booking is present in the UK when the booking is made or the first leg of any flight or flights we arrange for you commences in the UK. Awaiting confirmation of 2012 market dates

There are four main Stockholm Christmas markets: namely Skansen, the Old Town, Djurgàrden and the markets at Kungstradgàrden. Each market has its own unique style offering a wide array of entertainment and attractions. Every year, Advent transforms the city into a glittering Christmas wonderland. Stockholm's Old Town with its glorious palaces is the perfect setting for this enchanting Christmas market which boasting longstanding Swedish traditions, handicrafts, Christmas delicacies and mull wine.

Another highlight is the Skansen Christmas Market where the old fashioned stalls laden with Swedish handicrafts, food and traditional festive decorations create a truly magical scene. But there are many other markets to be found around the city, each of them with its own attractions and a special intimate flair. A trip to a Stockholm Christmas market is sure to keep you entertained whilst dancing the night away in one of the city's many night venues.

In the city area you find big department stores like Nordiska Kompaniet (NK), Åhléns and PUB. NK stands out as the premier Swedish department store and is where the upper classes of Stockholm go to do their shopping.

The area also offers shopping arcades like Gallerian, Sturegallerian and numerous large retail stores, including H&M and Zara.

Second-hand, fashion and design can be found in the Södermalm district. If you look for luxury goods and brands go a bit north to Östermalm. Boutiques are clustered around Birger Jarlsgatan, Biblioteksgatan, Nybrogatan, Östermalmstorg and Stureplan.

This is a secret address for delicious Swedish food and mainly visited by locals.

F12 - Fredsgatan 12

Set within the high-ceilinged interior of the Royal Academy of Arts, this is one of Stockholm's premier restaurants.

Restaurangen - Oxtorgsgatan 14

Restaurangen with its high-ceilinged decor combined with international cuisine is a favorite for many cosmopolitan Swedes.

Stadshuset (Stockholm City Hall)

Located on the island of Kungsholmen you can find one of the finest examples of modern architecture in Europe - Stockholm City Hall. Climb the City Hall tower for a fantastic view of Stockholm.

Gamla Stan

It is one of the best preserved medieval city centres in the world.

Drottningholm Palace and Theater

If you want to visit Drottningholm Palace, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it will take about 3 hours of your time. It is sitting on an island in Lake Mälaren and is still the home of the royal family.

Skansen

This was the first open-air museum to open in the world, back in 1891 -- and it's still going strong. It is located on the green island of Djurgården.

Vasamuseet (Royal Warship Vasa)

The Royal Warship Vasa is the most frequently visited attraction in Scandinavia and is the world's oldest complete and identified ship.
